Buzz off Week

That's the way it should be.  This has been a bust of a week.  From yellow jackets to yellow-bellied cowards.  From sitting at a desk to stories of possible bike rides.  Confusing?   Think how I feel.

So, there's these scary yellow jackets that seem to pop up every fall and spring at my source of nourishment,
aka, my job.  Not one or two, we're talking, like, lots.   I would attach a  before and after video for your viewing pleasure, but as I've just established myself while trying to do that, I'm not -- well, I can't.   I don't know how.

They bombed the bees -- which is easier to say than yellow jackets -- and the floor was COVERED!!! What's up with that?   Isn't that construed as unsafe working conditions.   Hmmm.

Well, we can't do anything about those unsafe working conditions, but sometimes in life there's unacceptable living situations that we can do something about.   That's where the yellow-bellied cowards come in.  Why can people be that way?   Or how can the people they befriend be so gullible when confronted with those "nice" types?   What the what!!!  Mostly, why?   I think it's a lot of time people's human nature to want to look for the good in a person.  Like, they  just know it's there and maybe this is a slight faux pas on their part.

This is true.  But not forever.   You can't keep making the same mistakes in life and expect people to continue to have patience and confidence in your abilities.   I learned that in 2014 when I couldn't quite  "pass the test."   That's rough.   Rough stuff.

So maybe next week I'll be able to sit behind my desk without a yellow jacket flying around.  While down the street somewhere, in a far away town, some kids and their mom will be riding some sweet bikes they got from a charitable giver that felt it was "No big deal."

Until next time ...

Sadly, I'm not good enough for you. My regrettable realization. Your salvation.

THAT LITTLE CHAIR

I'm telling ya, I'm pretty disappointed.  But what do ya do?   My granny and I go to the Salvation Army looking around on Saturday.  Actually, we go almost every Saturday.   It's her favorite thing to do on her "Day".  Right there when you first walk in, there's this little chair sitting there.  A little one, all taped up with what looks like packing tape on the seat and other places.  But overall, it's a pretty sturdy little thing and so, so cute.  So original.  It's marked $9.99.  As if they're fooling me with that.  It's 10 bucks.  Yup.  Can't fool me. "How much will you take for that chair?"   "$2.00." "Really!  I'll take it."   "Okay." I leave it there and continue shopping.  BIG MISTAKE!!   Who knew!   I'm shopping.  I'm on the phone telling my brother about this chair and all the wonderful things I'm going to do with it.  I even named...

"I DON'T KNOW"

That's the words that were ringing tonight at what I was expecting to be a reprieve from all the madness I keep experiencing.  You see, I'm a square dancer.  I'm a court reporter.  I'm a caretaker.  I'm a musician. I'm a really big dreamer.  Lately, I feel like a loser.   So no matter how well-meaning everyone was, going to our club dinner and having everyone ask, "Where do you work at now?", well, it just sucked. Tomorrow is my 48th birthday and I'm still here with my grandmother helping her out.  Or is she helping me out.  I tell you, when I first arrived here from El Paso, I was not me.  It was such a horrible time in my life. My whole world had crumbled and here I was in a situation I'd never dream of, of having to take care of my 91-year-old grandmother who, as it turned out, was not the grandmother I had always thought she was.  I guess that can go both ways.  Maybe I ended up changing to her and she could say the same thing...

THINKING by Walter Wintle
